I thought I remember my whole birth story from the first contraction to the first time I laid eyes on my girls. Until my partner, mum and midwife retold my birth story and included a whole heap of unfamiliar details, I realised there where whole chunks of time that I had no memory of at all.
Through birth we draw inwards, our mind blocking out all that’s happening around us so our bodies and babies can connect and do amazing things meaning special moments often go unnoticed or forgotten. This is the process of breaking down as a maiden to build a mother, these moments are life changing and should not be something forgotten about.
