about sun + moon

The name Sun + Moon reflects the circular condition found in most parts of the human experience. Things that seem to contradict often go hand in hand: the sun and the moon, light and shadow, beauty and sorrow, summer and winter, silence and sound, birth and death. One could not exist without the other. There is a tender place for each of these and I aim to honor the entire experience in my work and in my life. My vision for Sun + Moon is to create space where birthing people of all genders, sexualities, ethnicities, ages, abilities, class status, and family structures and their families are loved, valued, supported and nourished. I do this through providing birth doula services, capturing intimate moments through documentary photography and seeking to listen long and deep.

Sun + Moon’s beautiful logo and art were created by Claire Waterman.
